C&H Bookbinding specializes in custom bookbinding services, including intricate foil stamping to enhance your book covers with unique designs and lettering. Our offerings encompass in-house lettering, custom dies, and the creation of personalized dies to meet your specific needs. We use hot stamping machines to apply foil to the cover material using individual metal letters or dies. While gold and silver foil options are popular, our extensive range includes various colors to cater to your needs. For materials requiring a different touch, our blind stamping, involving heat and pressure without foil, leaves a lasting impression. Trust C&H Bookbinding for top-notch services in custom bookbinding, book repair, and high-quality bookbinding techniques which include foil hot stamping.
This is an example of the individual metal letters and the hotstamping machine used in foilstamping text on the cover of the book. They are loaded letter by letter into the hotstamping machine. As these are made of metal, they can’t be resized like you would when typing on a computer. They are stamped in straight lines.
Below are samples of the in-house fonts I have. If you want a font other than what you see below and depending on the scope of your project, it may be more economical to buy a new font set rather than having custom dies created.
This is an example of a custom foil stamping die. These can be reused on a variety of projects. Creating a custom foil stamping die allows you to have the exact font, image, or layout that you want for your project.

I will walk you through all of these to help you make the best decision. Not all dies will stamp well on all materials. For instance, in image D14A below, the canon image did not fill in well because it was a die with very full coverage stamped on a material that had no give to it.
